CUNY has partnered with the Internet Archive. If we own a physical copy of an item, that is made available through the Internet Archive then a link to the Archive was added to the record as is shown here: https://cuny-qc.primo.exlibrisgroup.com/permalink/01CUNY_QC/10rddhv/cdi_proquest_ebookcentral_EBC362249
In order to read the e-book, a free account with the Internet Archive needs to be created. Per the Internet Archive: Patrons now have a choice in selecting the loan period when they borrow a book. Patrons can choose short-term access for 1 hour, or a longer 14 days loan. If we only have 1 copy of a book, it is only available for 1-hour loan. If we have multiple copies of a book, then a copy can be checked out for either 1 hour or 14 days depending on availability. If there are no copies available for 14 days loans, users can join a waitlist. There is no waitlist available for books that only offer 1-hour loans.
For more information, please review Borrowing Terms at the Internet Archive.
Faculty are encouraged to complete the E-Request Form to submit Internet Archive titles for their course.
